Small anecdote about the benefit of the new DnD minis

I love my DnD minis. They are so cool. And having the right mini to use in an encounter takes a load off the descriptions.

In a recent session, I placed half a dozen grimlocks around the party and said "You are surrounded." One player says, "Yeah, but what do they look like?" I reply, "They look exactly like that."

Mmmm, the benefit of minis.

Player's response was to pick up a mini, read the base, and say, "We're surrounded by grimlocks."

minis has brought a whole new dimesion to gaming. yes i'm hooked. =P
